Trang Tran ’96, Tennis

Trang was a welcome addition on the varsity tennis team her freshman year and had a remarkable season. Trang fi nished the season as the #2 varsity singles player, alongside her sister An who earned the #1 spot. She experienced great success by remaining undefeated in league play her entire high school career. Trang was also named team MVP and served as team captain during her career at Moreau Catholic.

Trang says her most memorable event was playing in the NCS and being able to represent Moreau. Trang and her sister An Tran were the NCS Doubles Champions in the 1993-1994 season.

After high school, Trang joined her sister An at UC Riverside where she majored in biology. Trang played tennis for one season while at Riverside and graduated in June 2001. She also played in the United States Tennis Association.

She credits her father for impacting not only her athletic career but for helping her to become the person she is today. “The person that had the most impact on me as a person is my dad. He not only taught me the skills to be an athlete, but also taught me that to become a better person and a better player, I must always strive to learn from others.”

When asked what is one legacy she hopes she left at Moreau, Trang says that she wants Moreau athletes to remember something very simple, “When it comes down to it, it is ‘all for one and one for all’!”

Trang is currently attending the University of the Pacifi c School of Pharmacy and will graduate in 2007.
