Angela Demmel: A Short Biography

Angela Demmel is an artist educator whose work is deeply rooted in the Bay Area dance community.  As Director of Dance at Moreau Catholic High School (Hayward), Angela developed and teaches a four-tiered program that has been honored by the University of California Regents and the Association of Holy Cross Educators.  Angela choreographs in a broad range of styles, including contemporary, musical theatre, jazz and dance theatre.  In addition to her work at Moreau, Angela's choreography has been featured in several seasons of the Vision Series, the Dance IS Festival, the Renaud-Wilson Dance Festival, Works in the Works, and ODC's Pilot 56 among other events.  Her choreography has also been shown at CSU-East Bay, University of Oregon, Mills College and with Golden Thread Theatre in San Francisco and Cairo, Egypt.  Angela has danced locally in the works of Margaret Jenkins, Eric Kupers, Kimiko Guthrie, Laura Elaine Ellis, Nancy Lyons, Nina Haft, Shinichi Lova-Koga and Molissa Fenley.  Angela is an alumna of CSUEB's Department of Theatre and Dance, where she is also a lecturer.  She completed her Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography and Performance at Mills College in 2010.
