The Moreau Catholic Learning Center is located in room C 07, directly across from our Learning Commons (the MCHS Library), in the heart of the campus. The center is open during academic and activity collaborations and open after school until 4:30 p.m. daily.

The Learning Center offers academic support in a variety of academic subjects. This includes one-to-one professional and peer tutoring, small group tutoring, drop-in tutoring, mentoring support, study skills and organizational strategies. Walk-in tutoring support is available in most subject areas for students needing assistance with a specific assignment or concept, and professional tutors, volunteer parents, and the Learning Center Coordinator work together to provide dynamic support.

During the school day, the Learning Center is home to Study Skills classes, extended time testing for students with extended-time testing accommodations, and one on one mentoring by our Learning Center Coordinator. The Coordinator also works closely with the Counseling Department and teachers to assist ALL students with academic goals that extend beyond the classroom.

The Academic Support Center is also staffed with students who have been accepted into the National Honors Society. Moreau Catholic High School has been a proud partner of the National Honors Society for over 10 years. National Honors Society students are sophomores, juniors and seniors, with over a 3.0 cumulative GPA who have demonstrated academic success along with strong leadership skills. NHS students go through a formal application process prior to being accepted into NHS.

In addition, professional, adult tutors now provide expertise and skill-development in one on one sessions after school most days, Monday through Thursday from 3-4:30PM. These tutors are trained teachers with backgrounds that prepare them to work with all levels of student needs.

Students will be required to sign-in to the Academic Support Center, logging in when they arrive and when they leave. Our Learning Center Coordinator manages these learning logs with teachers, helping students to improve thoroughly and systematically.

All students in the Moreau Academic Support Center are expected to behave in a matter conducive to a learning environment, consistently being respectful of all students’ learning. If a student’s behavior becomes a distraction to other students, their assistant principal will be contacted along with their parents.

If you have any questions about the Learning Center, please contact the Learning Center Coordinator, Ms. Amy Farsheed at afarsheed@moreaucatholic.org, or Mr. Hudelson, Assistant Principal for Student support at jhudelson@moreaucatholic.org.

The Center will will be closed for professional development days and faculty staff meetings. Please check your calendar.
