Frequently Asked Questions
What is the dress code?
School Appearance Code
What are the school hours?
The school building is open every morning from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Students may be dropped off at 7 am, and can access the Ivaldi Student Center, and the outdoor plaza areas. The Library is open almost every day after school until 5:30 pm. On early dismissal days, the student center is open to provide students an on-campus lunch option.
How does the school ensure the safety of students?
The campus perimeter is secured throughout the school day, and visitors are strictly monitored. Moreau Catholic maintains a closed campus policy, and students from other schools are never permitted entry during the school day. The school has three campus supervisors who patrol the campus from 7 am - 7 pm, and during any after school cocurricular events. Hayward School Resource Officers are also on campus for after school cocurricular events to support maintaining a safe environment for all students and visitors.
What is the procedure for collecting homework when my student is sick?
When a student is absent, the parent should contact the Attendance Office every morning of their absence. The student is encouraged to email teachers and check class websites for homework. If the student is absent for an extended period of time, the student's counselor can assist in the coordination of missing homework assignments. Please see the
Attendance webpage
for more information.
How do I get a message to my student? (urgent/non-urgent)
The Main Office will deliver messages to students only for family emergencies. A parent may also leave a message on their student’s cell phone, or via email. The student can turn the cell phone on at the end of the school day to check for any messages.
What if I schedule an appointment for my student during the day that he/she does not know about?
All absence notes should be delivered to the Attendance office by 7:45 am. If there is an extenuating circumstance that requires a last-minute change in plans, please come to the Attendance Office, to pick up the student with a note excusing them from school. We cannot contact a student during lunch, so please let us know ahead of time if you are coming in.
Where do I drop off items for a student? (lunch, money, homework, etc.)
All items for students must be delivered to the Main office.
What is the cell phone policy?
When students arrive on campus, cell phones are to be turned off and kept out of sight. Students may turn their phones on at the end of the school day.
What is the procedure if my student comes to school late?
Your student must report to the Attendance Office to check in as soon as he/she arrives on campus. When a student misses more than 50% of the period, this is an “absence” and will require a parent note. Students are not to report to the classroom until they have checked in with the Attendance Office.
