Evening of Excellence - May 2, 2013

Each year, Moreau Catholic High School honors and recognizes the outstanding achievements of our students at our annual Evening of Excellence. This year’s ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at 7:00 pm in the Main Gym. On this special evening many awards, certificates, and scholarships will be presented to our talented student body in the areas of academics, athletics, and service. Those students receiving awards will receive an invitation in the mail approximately two weeks prior to Evening of Excellence. The event is open to everyone in the Moreau Catholic community.
Academic Assembly - May 3, 2013

The MCHS Academic Assembly is an all school event where the entire Moreau Catholic community gathers to recognize students who have excelled in their academic and co-curricular endeavors this year and to recognize faculty, staff, and parent volunteers who serve our school community. The Academic Assembly also gives us a chance to showcase our graduating seniors with performances by the band, choir and dance group.

The Academic Assembly will take place on Friday, May 3rd beginning at 9:30 am in the Main Gym. All are welcome to attend. Please check in with the Main Office or at the gate to obtain a visitor badge.
Learning Center

We are pleased that the Academic Support Center (ASC) is off and running. As a reminder, the Moreau Academic Support Center is located in room A04, and is open during collaboration and after school until 3:30 pm. The Academic Support Center offers peer support in academic subjects. This includes one-to-one tutoring, small group tutoring, drop-in tutoring, computer skills support, study skills and organizational strategies. Walk-in tutoring support is available in most subject areas for students needing assistance with a specific assignment or concept. NHS students in the Academic Support Center provide an additional level of support for students who are struggling with a specific concept or skill in their academic courses. NHS peer tutors should not take the place of getting support from a teacher.
Extended Absences

While not advised, there may be an occasion where a student will be absent for a reason planned in advance. In such cases, the student should present a parent’s note to the attendance office one week prior to the anticipated absence. The attendance office will give the student a form to completed by his/her teachers, counselor, and assistant principal. Students are responsible for work missed during their absences. No anticipated absences will be granted during the week of Final Exams.
