Moreau’s Dance Program boasts five levels of full-year, University of California (UC) accredited courses, including the first Honors Dance Class on the West Coast, plus semester-long courses in social dance and jazz dance. Dancers of all technical experience are welcome and encouraged to join the program.

Students with little or no formal dance training can enter the program at the Dance Focus level, where they will develop their technical skills while building knowledge of dance as a performing art. Students with one or more years of experience are invited to audition into higher-level classes, where they can continue to hone their artistry.

The Dance Program produces three concerts each academic year, including a winter concert, a spring concert, and a student choreographer’s showcase in February. Our winter and spring concerts include performances by students in the entire program, and our Student Choreographer’s Showcase highlights student work from our intermediate and advanced classes.

Started in Fall 2016, the dance program continues to offer a year-long evening dance class. This UC-eligible course is designed for advanced-beginning and intermediate students. It is geared toward students who are interested in gaining the benefits of dance, but who otherwise would not be able to take the course in a traditional course schedule. The course focus is on building strength, flexibility, functional alignment, and coordination. Performance in the concerts is optional and encouraged, but not required.
