Financial Assistance FAQs

Yes. Moreau Catholic offers financial assistance to families who demonstrate financial need assessed from the annual financial assistance application.

Moreau Catholic partners with two third-party organizations, Clarity and Mission Enrollment, to assess a family’s financial need and tuition contribution. The financial assistance application, including submission of all required documentation, is completed online through Clarity.

Moreau Catholic offers merit-based scholarships to students. Students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships when applying for admission to Moreau Catholic. Contact the Admissions department for more information regarding merit-based scholarships.

Additionally, Moreau Catholic partners with Bay Scholars and Family Aid-Catholic Education (FACE). Bay Scholars offers $3,500 merit-based grants, and FACE offers $3,500 need-based grants to reduce the family’s tuition contribution. Families may qualify for one or both grants.

To maximize the amount of total financial assistance offered, students and families who are eligible and financially qualify for a grant from Bay Scholars and/or FACE must apply to these organizations for a grant. Moreau Catholic is unable to provide additional assistance to cover the amount these scholarships offer.

FACE partners with FACTS Grant & Aid to accept and assess financial assistance applications. The application can be accessed through the FACE website. (https:/oakdiocese.org/education-assistance-face)

Both Clarity and FACTS Grant & Aid charge a processing fee to families when completing their respective online applications.  Bay Scholars does not charge an application processing fee.

Moreau Catholic will waive the $65 Clarity processing fee for a family who qualifies and applies for the Bay Scholars and/or FACE grant when the family submits a screenshot of the completed applications to the Moreau Catholic Business Office prior to submitting their Clarity application.

Moreau Catholic uses “prior-prior” year financial data to assess a family’s financial need and determine the family’s tuition contribution. To be considered for a financial assistance offer for the 2026-2027 school year, Moreau Catholic requires documents from the 2024 tax year.

Clarity integrates with the IRS to pull an applicant’s tax transcript into the financial assistance application, which includes information from the applicant’s 1040, W2s, and 1099s.

To complete the integration, applicants must complete the Enhanced Tax Verification process - a one-time security measure required by the IRS to protect against identity theft and the compromise of personal information. The Clarity Tax Verification Guide and 5-minute video (el video en español) provide step-by-step instructions to complete this required one-time process. The Clarity Tax Verification FAQs (English and Español) provide additional information.

Furthermore, for applicants who own a business, have rental property, or receive supplemental income additional documents are required and must be uploaded by the applicant into the financial assistance application in Clarity. The specific documents will be identified upon submission of the application.

The financial assistance application through Clarity takes approximately 30-minutes to complete. For applicants who have not yet completed the required Enhanced Tax Verification process, an additional 15 minutes will be needed to complete this one-time process.

All guardians of a student must be included on the financial assistance application to be considered for an offer of financial assistance.

For students whose guardians file taxes jointly, only one application with both guardians listed is required. For students whose guardians file taxes separately, each guardian must submit their own financial assistance application through Clarity, regardless of whether one or both guardians are responsible for paying tuition.

Bay Scholars, FACE, and Moreau Catholic each have their own financial assistance application deadlines. All supporting documentation must also be uploaded by the deadline date.

Moreau Catholic has a finite amount of available financial assistance, the preponderance of which is allocated to families who meet the February 2, 2026, deadline. To maximize the opportunity for an offer, families must submit their application, including all supporting documents, by the deadline. Applications submitted after this date will be assessed for a financial assistance offer only as funding remains available.

For new students, if the student is accepted to Moreau Catholic, the financial assistance offer is included in the student’s offer of admission.

For returning students, the financial assistance offer is included in the student’s re-enrollment correspondence.

Financial assistance offers from Moreau Catholic are considered final upon offer. Should a family experience a hardship that was not included in the initial financial assistance application, the family may complete an appeals form to provide the additional information. If new information is not provided, the appeal will be denied, and the initial offer will stand.

No. Students are not required to submit a completed admissions application prior to the family applying for financial assistance. However, financial assistance is only offered to families whose student has completed and submitted their admissions application.

No. Financial assistance is not guaranteed from year to year. The extent to which a family receives a financial assistance offer in any particular year is determined from the information provided on the financial assistance application of that year.

Yes. To be considered for a financial assistance offer, families must (re)apply every year by completing the financial assistance application through the Clarity platform.
