Announcing Our New Athletic Director

Announcing our new Athletic Director, Erica Escalante!

On behalf of the Athletic Director Search Committee, I am pleased to announce that we have unanimously selected Erica Escalante as the new Athletic Director of Moreau Catholic High School.

After a highly competitive search drawing many qualified and talented candidates, the committee concluded that Ms. Escalante’s education and experience were the best fit to lead the Moreau Catholic Athletic Department. Ms. Escalante holds a Master’s Degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. In addition to her years at Moreau Catholic as Assistant and Associate Athletic Director, she has worked as an events manager, operations specialist, head coach, and assistant Athletic Director at elite private and public colleges and high schools throughout the Bay Area.

Over her five years at Moreau Catholic, she has developed strong relationships with students, student-athletes, parents, faculty, staff members, and members of the Leadership Team. Ms. Escalante has demonstrated highly effective leadership with our coaches and collaboration with our Athletic Booster Club. She brings energy and passion to our Athletic Department and a commitment to guiding our students.

During the interview process, Ms. Escalante shared her vision for Moreau Catholic’s Athletic Department including fostering “the development of Christian attitudes toward healthy competition, an appreciation for the value of teamwork, the importance of commitment and hard work in achieving short and long term goals, and respect…for the abilities and opinions of others.” This aligns with and builds upon our school wide vision for excellence in academics, athletics and the arts. We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Escalante into this new position and to collaborate with her to bring this vision to life!

The process for the selection of our new Athletic Director was comprehensive. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Search Committee for their professionalism, commitment, and wisdom in the selection process.

A Few Words from Erica Escalante:

Dear Moreau Catholic Community,

It is an honor to be named the Athletic Director at Moreau Catholic High School. I am so thankful for the opportunity to continue working with this community. Moreau Catholic has been a place I have called home over the last five years. The students, teachers, coaches, and staff have truly become a part of my family.

The rich tradition of Mariner athletics, combining a focus on individual empowerment and collective growth, is a journey I can't wait to continue. I am extremely excited to help build upon the school's storied achievements and the opportunity to guide the holistic development of Mariner student-athletes in the Holy Cross tradition of pursuing excellence in all things, which is especially important to me. Even more, the vibrance and diversity of the Moreau Catholic community provide an unmatched setting to achieve extraordinary success. Having worked with the Moreau Catholic staff, faculty, students, and community, I am excited to be part of a leadership team focused on empowering the next generation of student-athlete leaders through an outstanding Mariner athletic experience.

Sincerely,
Erica Escalante
