Community Circles

The Moreau Catholic Health Sciences Community Circle program brings together current parents, alumni, alumni parents, and friends of the Moreau Catholic community who work in the health sciences to hear from our students and teachers about the work we are doing to prepare students for college majors and careers in the health sciences, and to offer them guidance, mentorship, and opportunities in their respective organizations and specific fields. 

The Health Science Community Circle will be supported by the Flare app where students and mentors can safely collaborate asynchronously throughout the school year. In addition, the Health Science Community Circle will meet periodically during the school year on campus to hear student and faculty presentations relevant to participants. Community Circle participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss internships and other opportunities by posting in the app and during the in-person meetings.
 

The Moreau Catholic Creative Arts Community Circle program brings together current parents, alumni, alumni parents, and friends of the Moreau Catholic community who work in the creative arts to launch and assist school staff in administering the Moreau Catholic Creators Lab.

The Moreau Catholic Creators Lab is an interdisciplinary program that brings together student teams of visual artists, animators, writers, musicians, and performers to create original worlds, characters, and stories designed to connect with audiences across generations and cultures. Working collaboratively, students develop complete creative concepts that may include digital characters, immersive environments, storylines, original music, and related experiences such as merchandise or live events. Throughout the process, students draw on the full resources of Moreau Catholic’s Visual and Performing Arts program, including the TV studio, performing arts center, and recording and broadcasting studios. The program emphasizes creativity, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and real-world storytelling. 

In the spring, teams present their concepts at the Moreau Catholic PitchFest, where they pitch their projects to alumni and industry professionals in the content creation field. Selected teams may receive investment, mentorship, and a significant monetary prize to help bring their ideas to life.
 

The Moreau Catholic Business and Finance Community Circle program brings together current parents, alumni, alumni parents, and friends of the Moreau Catholic community who are corporate entrepreneurs, work in corporate enterprises, banking, and/or finance, to launch and assist school staff in administering the Moreau Catholic Investment Club. 

The Moreau Catholic Investment Club is a collaborative learning group where students learn to analyze financial markets, manage a mock or real portfolio*, and study investing strategies under the guidance of the members of the Moreau Catholic Business and Finance Community Circle. All members will receive access to the Lyfe Course financial management program. All members of the Moreau Catholic Board of Trustees Finance Committee and Investment Subcommittee are de facto members of the Moreau Catholic Business and Finance Community Circle.

*It is the School’s intention to solicit restricted donations for the sole purpose of providing the students of the Moreau Catholic Investment Club the educational opportunity of managing a real portfolio, where any returns will be used to provide Tuition Assistance for Moreau Catholic students.
 

The Moreau Catholic Criminal Justice and Law Community Circle program brings together current parents, alumni, alumni parents, and friends of the Moreau Catholic community who work in law enforcement, legal services, corrections, security, forensics, and other related fields to assist school staff in facilitating Moreau Catholic’s award-winning Mock Trial program, preparing students for college majors and careers in these fields, and to offer them guidance, mentorship, and internship opportunities in their respective organizations and specific fields.

The Criminal Justice and Law Community Circle will meet during the Mock Trial season practice times to collaborate directly with students and faculty. Additional support for the Community Circle will also be supported by the Flare app where students and mentors can safely collaborate asynchronously throughout the school year.
 

The Moreau Catholic Real Estate and Hospitality Community Circle program brings together current parents, alumni, alumni parents, and friends of the Moreau Catholic community who work in real estate, restaurant and beverage industries, property development or management, hotel management and operations, event planning, wine industry, and other related industries to hear from our students and teachers about the work we are doing to prepare students for college majors and careers in these fields, and to offer them guidance, mentorship, and opportunities in their respective organizations and specific fields. 

The Real Estate and Hospitality Community Circle will be supported by the Flare app where students and mentors can safely collaborate asynchronously throughout the school year. In addition, the Real Estate and Hospitality Community Circle will meet periodically during the school year on campus to hear student and faculty presentations relevant to participants. Community Circle participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss internships and other opportunities by posting in the app and during the in-person meetings.
 

The Moreau Catholic STEM and Aerospace Community Circle program brings together current parents, alumni, alumni parents, and friends of the Moreau Catholic community who work in technology and computer science, engineering, life and physical sciences, data analysis, aerospace, aviation, and other related technical fields and industries to hear from our students and teachers about the work we are doing to prepare students for college majors and careers in these fields, and to offer them guidance, mentorship, and opportunities in their respective organizations and specific fields. 

Community Circle members who are part of the aerospace and aviation industries will provide special support to Moreau Catholic students who are part of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadet Program, East Bay Cadet Squadron 18, located at the Hayward Executive Airport. CAP’s Cadet Program provides leadership training, aerospace education, fitness education, and character education while participating in CAP’s mission to participate in life-saving and humanitarian missions.

In addition, the STEM and Aerospace Community Circle will meet periodically during the school year on campus to hear student and faculty presentations relevant to participants. Community Circle participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss internships and other opportunities by posting in the app and during the in-person meetings.
