Mariner Cleared Process

Fill out the Parent/Guardian Volunteer Sign Up Google form.

1. Download the LiveScan Form
2. Fill out the form and take the form to a local LiveScan Operator
3. Complete fingerprinting process

Note: Fingerprinting or LiveScan completed for any other organization cannot be considered.

With the passage of California SB848, effective July 1, 2026, every Mariner adult volunteer is required to complete the “Safe Environment with Mandated Reporter Training, State of California” every year. Annual training ensures that every adult stays current on reporting procedures, legal responsibilities, and the warning signs that can change over time. By completing this training each year, every adult helps to create a safer Mariner community where concerns are identified early, and children receive protection when they need it most.

Action steps for every Mariner adult volunteer

Select from the following three options, as applicable

1. Existing Mariner adult volunteers 
   • Log into your Virtus account 
   • Complete the “Safe Environment with Mandated Reporter Training, State of California” module (~ 45 minutes) 
   • Email certificate to Denise Varga (dvarga@moreaucatholic.org)
2. New Mariner adult volunteers with any prior training through Virtus platform 
   • Email the following to Claudia Briones (cbriones@moreaucatholic.org)
     • First and last name
     • Name of entity for which training through Virtus was completed 
   • A new Virtus account for Moreau Catholic High School will be added as a secondary location.  The new account information will be emailed to you.
   • Log in to your new Virtus account for Moreau Catholic High School 
   • Complete the “Safe Environment with Mandated Reporter Training, State of California” module (~ 45 minutes)
   • Email certificate to Denise Varga (dvarga@moreaucatholic.org) 
3. New Mariner adult volunteers without prior training through the Virtus platform 
   • Create a Virtus account
   • Select First-Time Registrant 
   • From the dropdown menu, select Moreau Catholic High School 
   • Once registered, the “Safe Environment with Mandated Reporter Training, State of California” module will populate. Complete the training (~ 45 minutes) 
   • Email certificate to Denise Varga (dvarga@moreaucatholic.org)

In accordance with provisions of California law, any person acting as a volunteer or employed by a public or private school in California shall submit TB testing results and/or a TB risk assessment report prior to employment or volunteering showing that he/she is free of tuberculosis. Subsequently, a TB risk assessment report, or TB testing based on the results of the TB risk assessment, must be submitted every four years. Please email your results to dvarga@moreaucatholic.org.
