Custodian (Swing Shift)

Moreau Catholic High School, a coeducational high school in the Holy Cross tradition, is currently seeking a full-time Custodian for the Swing Shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate unskilled work in the care and cleaning of school buildings and grounds.
• Assist in moving or rearranging chairs, tables, desks, furniture and other equipment; set up or take down furniture and equipment for various community activities and services.
• Maintain equipment used in the course of custodial work; report safety, sanitary and fire hazards.
• Assist other custodial staff when circumstances warrant.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED and at least 6 months’ custodial experience.
• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school staff.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including meeting regular, punctual attendance, and qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to walk, stoop, bend, and reach for prolonged periods; work in outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, noise; ability to move, transport or position equipment and materials. The employee must occasionally move up to 40 pounds.
• Frequent oral and written communications; must be able to exchange accurate information.

The pay rate for this position is $22.25 – $25.05 per hour. Moreau Catholic offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.
