High School Band Instructor (Woodwind)

Moreau Catholic High School is currently seeking a High School Band Instructor.

Founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Catholic High School emphasizes college-preparatory excellence in all programs designed to facilitate the informative, formative, and transformative needs of the individual student. Located approximately 25 miles southeast of San Francisco, in Hayward, California, the school is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With approximately 800 students, the co-educational student body reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, and the school has enjoyed a 99% collegiate matriculation. Our graduating seniors have been accepted into 1,000+ universities and colleges yearly, and have garnered, on average, between $11-14 million in scholarships and grants.

Woodwind Instructor

The Woodwind Instructor will work with students to lead beginning, intermediate, and advanced reed instrument sectionals (primarily clarinet and saxophone) during the school day, providing guidance in tone, technique, and ensemble playing. The position also includes the opportunity to coach Jazz saxophone sectionals once a week from 7:00–8:00 AM for candidates with the interest, availability, and experience in jazz performance. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency on woodwind instruments, the ability to adapt instruction for a range of skill levels, an interest in working with high school musicians, and a commitment to professionalism, enthusiasm, and reliability. Sectional scheduling is flexible to accommodate instructor availability.

Pay Range: $45-$55 per hour DOE.
