Parent Pledge Program

There was a time when tuition covered the full cost of a Moreau Catholic education, but that is not the case today. In fact, there is more than a $2,100 gap in tuition per student that will be made up through private support from parents, alumni, alumni parents and friends of Moreau Catholic High School. Tuition and voluntary giving are the two most significant sources of financial support for our School. We count on this!

The Moreau Fund is the cornerstone of all fundraising at Moreau Catholic and is the “every year” gift we ask our entire school community to contribute. The Moreau Fund has become an essential investment to funding a Moreau Catholic education, and the School expects all families to participate in this program at a level commensurate with their financial capacity.

Support from parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends helps keep tuition affordable while maintaining and strengthening the breadth of academic and co-curricular programs at Moreau Catholic.

We expect parents to make an annual gift to Moreau Catholic that matches each family’s ability to give. Participation is vital as a high participation rate helps secure grants from major donors and foundations which support Catholic and independent schools. Families who receive tuition assistance are asked to participate and make a pledge commensurate with their particular financial situation.

Moreau Catholic encourages families to make a minimum tax-deductible, annual pledge of $2,100 per year to help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. Gifts at this level qualify for membership in the 1965 Level. As members of the 1965 Level, you will receive invitations to our annual 1965 Club Reception as well as other special event invitations and communications throughout the year from the President.

True to our Holy Cross mission to serve varied economic backgrounds, Moreau Catholic strives to keep tuition increases to a minimum in order to remain affordable to as many families as possible. The Moreau Fund, which includes the Parent Pledge Program, accomplishes this goal by helping to close the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating each student, ultimately benefiting every family that walks through our doors. Additionally, gifts to Moreau Catholic offer valuable tax benefits to the donor, whereas tuition does not.

Unlike tuition, your gifts to the Moreau Fund, including the Parent Pledge Program, are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. Moreau Catholic High School is a recognized 501(c)3 organization. Tax ID: 94-1609000.

Gifts to the Moreau Fund have a tremendous impact on the quality education provided to our students by preserving and strengthening the breadth of academic and co-curricular programs offered at the School.

A matching gift program is a corporate sponsored benefit that can double or even triple an employee’s gift to Moreau Catholic by matching his or her contribution. Check with your human resources office to find out if your company has a matching gift program. If your gift qualifies, please obtain a matching gift form from your employer to send along with your contribution.

Note: Matching gift companies prohibit Moreau Catholic from using matching gifts to pay off pledges. However, matching gifts received will be credited to a donor’s overall giving.

Many donors find they can make a more substantial gift if they budget their payments on a semi-annual, quarterly, or monthly basis. Below is a sample of total pledge commitments and their annual, semi-annual, quarterly, and monthly installments:

**Gifts at this level qualify for the 1965 Level, our giving community who make annual contributions to Moreau Catholic at a level of $1,965 or above during the school year. (July-June)

At Moreau Catholic, families are invited to "Fund the Gap"—supporting the difference between tuition and the true cost of a Moreau education. Alternatively, you may choose other options such as donation of sporting event tickets, securing a school sponsorship, help fundraise, etc. to complete your pledge.
