Retreats

Students will begin their journey into Holy Cross spirituality through the pillars of Being Family, Building Respect, Educating Hearts and Minds, and Bringing Hope. Our hope is that these values become a lived part of their faith, character, and daily lives throughout their years at Moreau.

Led by senior Campus Ministers and supported by faculty, the Frosh Retreat invites students to deepen their relationship with God, grow in self-awareness, build friendships, and discover what it means to belong to the Moreau community.

The Frosh IFT Day will be held on campus on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm (check-in begins at 7:30 am). Attendance is required, and students must be in an approved relaxed dress code (see Student Handbook 10.7). Students will attend with their Frosh Theology class.

Rooted in the Gospel call to Agape—selfless, sacrificial love—the Sophomore Retreat invites students to reflect on God's love in their lives and their responsibility to others. Through prayer, self-examination, discussion, and shared experiences, students deepen their awareness of themselves, their community, and their call to help build the Kingdom of God through lives of compassion, justice, and hope.

Students will attend the retreat with their Christology class. Parent consent is required for this mandatory retreat and will be completed through the Magnus Health system. Please see the date below for your student's retreat schedule.

The Junior Immersion complements the Holy Cross Social Justice Seminar by inviting students to encounter Christ with those on the margins. Through simple living, service, reflection, and community, students experience the Church not only as a place of worship, but also as a source of refuge, dignity, and hope.

As they listen to stories, serve others, and walk alongside those experiencing poverty and homelessness, students are challenged to put faith into action. This transformative experience deepens their understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and the Holy Cross call to educate hearts and minds while bringing hope to the world.

Kairos—a Greek word meaning “God’s time” is the culminating Holy Cross retreat experience for seniors. Through prayer, reflection, silence, and authentic sharing, students are invited to encounter God more deeply in themselves, their relationships, and their life journey. Rooted in the Holy Cross mission of educating hearts and minds, Kairos calls students to recognize God's presence, strengthen bonds of family and friendship, and embrace their vocation to bring hope to the world.

Parental consent is required through the Magnus Health system. To reserve a spot, students must sign up in person with Ms. Tabora in G23.

Kairos is a three-day, two-night overnight retreat held at the Vallombrosa Retreat Center in Menlo Park.

The Dharmic and Islamic Retreat invites students to deepen their understanding of the rich spiritual traditions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism, and Islam. Through reflection, dialogue, prayer, meditation, and community-building, students are encouraged to explore their own spiritual journey while developing a greater appreciation for the diverse ways people seek God, truth, wisdom, compassion, and right living.

In the Holy Cross tradition, this retreat fosters respect, understanding, and solidarity across faiths, helping students recognize our shared human dignity and common call to seek truth, serve others, and build a more just, peaceful, and compassionate world.

Parental consent is required through the Magnus Health system. To reserve a spot, students must sign up in person with Ms. Tabora in G23 or with Ms. Armstrong and Mr. Triplett ’02.
