Super Women of our Past

Our students have been engaged in various projects throughout the year as part of the Teachers Righting History initiative - a program launched by former United States Treasurer (and Moreau Catholic alumna) Rosie Rios. As the program has grown nationwide, we are excited to announce that two of our students had their work selected as part of a new channel for YouTube Kids in partnership with Google for Education.

Executives at YouTube and Google for Education culled through tens of thousands of videos to find content for the first 25 historic American women to be featured as part of the "Super Women of our Past" YouTube channel. The channel launched in early March as part of Women's History Month, and features videos on several historic American women whose impact has been significant.

Out of all of these submissions, two students from Katie Teekell's Mass Media class had their projects chosen to be featured on the YouTube channel - an incredible accomplishment! Isabella Socias '18 did her project on Amelia Earhart, while Kristen Benz '17 focused on Juliette Gordon Low.
