What we do:
The Learning Center offers academic support through a variety of programs, including one-to-one professional and peer tutoring, drop-in tutoring, small group tutoring, supervised homework study, and mentoring support. Tutoring support is available in most subject areas for students needing assistance with a specific assignment or concept.
During the school day, The Learning Center is home to Guided Study classes, extended-time testing for students with testing accommodations, supervised homework study, and one-on-one mentoring by our Learning Center Coordinators. The Coordinators also work closely with the Counseling Department, teachers, and parents to assist all students in achieving academic and life goals that extend beyond the classroom.
Dani Lorta ‘89, Learning Center Coordinator, has a Master of Arts in Individual and Family Counseling; Devan Bevilacqua ‘13, Moreau Fellow, has a BA in English. Together, the Learning Center staff bring many years of experience helping students achieve academic, athletic, and life goals.
