About Boys' Basketball

Number of Teams: 3 - Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Frosh

Tryouts: We usually have over 90 young men trying out for these very competitive teams. Every athlete trying out is accorded 3 days of tryouts, with team selection occurring after the 3rd day. Each team carries between 11 and 14 athletes. Athletes who are participating on a fall sport must wait until the end of their sport to try out, and at that time will be accorded a full tryout.

Season: Boy's Basketball is a Winter sport that runs from November to February.

Schedule/League: Each team plays in 2-3 tournaments, a few pre-season games and scrimmages, and 14 League games in the Mission Valley Athletic League. The MVAL consists of James Logan, Newark Memorial, American, Irvington, JFK-Fremont, Irvington, Washington, Mission San Jose, and Moreau Catholic.
