About Boys' Tennis

Number of teams: 2 - Junior Varsity and Varsity

Tryouts: We usually have over 40 young men trying out for these very competitive teams. Currently there are no “cuts” in Tennis; all athletes make one of the teams. A ladder is created so that athletes know which team they are on and where their position is within the team. Each team has 4 singles players and 3 doubles teams that are the competition groups.

Season: Spring Season of sport, which runs from February to May.

Schedule/League: Varsity normally plays in one tournament, a few pre-season games and scrimmages, and 14 League games in the Mission Valley Athletic League. The MVAL consists of James Logan, Newark Memorial, American, Irvington, JFK Fremont, Irvington, Washington, Mission San Jose, and Moreau Catholic.

NCS Playoffs: Boys' Tennis only has two divisions in the North Coast Section; Moreau is Division II, which includes approximately 60 schools.
